LERN advocates 6-12 surveys per year with key customer groups. One or two questions are best.
I just sent one from Survey Monkey on behalf of a client. Took less than 1.5 hours to design, send it out and then analyze the results. If you haven't tried Survey Monkey (no affiliation with LERN) give it try. Your trial will be free and it's so simple to use.
Sort your contract database. Pick the top 50%. Ask them one question: "What do you want us to offer in 2010?"
